Edward England, the scourge of the African Waters; John Calico Rackam, who plundered West Indies together with his lady pirate Anne Bonny; Bartholomew Roberts, who became a pirate for love of novelty and change; Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard: these were the men who led crews of violent and homeless sailors to the plundering of towns and ships.

ARNO XI FERRARI - Hydroplane 1953

At the beginning of the 1960s Nando Dell’Orto, the famous motor-boat racer, decided to put a 12 cylinder Ferrari engine on a 3 point hull prepared by the Cantieri Timossi shipyard. The hull was de-signed for inboard races (class 800 kgs). The engine was prepared by Rinaldo Tinarelli, who was known as “the wizard” , the structure of the hull was made of wooden joists covered with marine ply-wood. The engine fairing and the stern finish, both colored in Ferrari red and with Ferrari markings, became a symbol of power and aggressiveness. A highly detailed model and is suitable for RC.

ARROW - Gunboat 1814

This highly detailed model represents a gunboat galley of the American navy, used during the victorious battle of Lake Champlain in 1814, against the British fleet. These vessels were very agile and well armed, utilising both cannon and carronades. They were a very important contributory factor in the war of US independence.

Bluenose a 285 ton schooner, is the fantastic winner of “the International Fisherman’s Trophy” in 1921. Entry to the contest was strictly confined to genuine fishing vessels. Bluenose was entered for the challenge in 1921 and from then on she won every single race for which she entered.

HMS BOUNTY - Armed Transport 1787

Although built as a merchant ship, the Bounty was assigned to the Royal Navy, where she was used for exploration voyages. Armed with 4 cannons and 8 culverins, the Bounty became famous for the mutiny of her crew in the South Pacific. The Bounty is one of the most beautiful models in the Amati collection. The reconstruction of this famous ship has been made possible thanks to the original plans of the British Admiralty.

CHINESE PIRATE JUNK - Qing Dynasty

The last thing a clipper ship, loaded with tea and spices, wanted to see was a Chinese Pirate Junk, bristling with cannons. Junks such as this dotted the rivers and harbours of China and Hong Kong, and it was often impossible to tell whether or not they belonged to merchants or pirates until it was to late.

EGYPTIAN CARRIAGE - Royal Carriage

A beautifully detailed Egyptian style carriage built for Maria Cristina of Borborne in 1819 for the Carnival Gala in Turin.

The kit includes pre-cut wooden features, wooden spokes and columns, brass decorations, velvet paper for interior covering, brass chains, gilded metal Egyptian figurehead, plans and detailed assembly instructions.

EGYPTIAN SHIP - Sahure Dynasty

Typical vessel used during the reign of King Sahure, this Egyptian ship carried cedar and ebony from Lebanon to Egypt. Shipbuilders of that era did not use pegs but relied on rope to keep their ships afloat. Keel, frames and deck were tightly tied together.

The construction of this boat begins in 1968 from an idea of Mr Robert Newton, who was looking for a ship that suited his particular needs. The development started from a working boat, the trawler, quite common in North America and particular in the New Foundland area where the Grand Banks are located. Comes with a fibre glass hull and is suitable for RC.

GREEK BIREME - Ancient Warship 480BC

Superbly detailed and accurate model of the Greek/Athenian Bireme. A fast and fearsome battleship, the Bireme was manned by 44 oarsmen working on two banks of oars. The protruding bow was a useful tool for ramming enemy ships during close range fighting, as the Persian fleet discovered at the Battle of Salamis. The style of vessel changed little from 480BC to late Roman Empire times, so the model could be used as a basis for a Roman vessel.

The Greek War of Independence 1821-1827 was characterized by the numerous combats of the Greek privateers against the Turkish-Egyptian ships. These galleons were very swift, with swallow draft, they could hide inside the narrow gulfs of the
Aegean islands and then attack enemy vessels.

HANNAH - US Schooner 1775

One of the first ships of the US Navy was the Hannah, a fishing schooner of 78 tons. She was bought by George Washington to fight the powerful British Navy. Kit has prebuilt resin hull.

NEW BEDFORD WHALEBOAT - 1860

The New Bedford whaleboat was a light swift craft. It was planked with rot-resistant cedar only half an inch thick with lapstrake construction. It was double ended so that it could change direction quickly and easily.

POLACCA -Venetian Cargo Ship 1750

The Polacca appeared on the Mediterranean Sea, it was used either as an escort ship, merchant or cargo. The Venetian fleet on the Adriatic Sea employed the Polacca to protect the shipping routes of Venice from pirates.

PINTA - Caravel of Columbus 1492

The Pinta belonged to the Pinzon family. On the Pinta’s first stop at Canary Island it replaced its lateen sails with square sails. Columbus always referred to the Pinta and the Nina as the Caravels.

Q-SHIP HUNTER - British Navy

This model represents a merchant ship, armed as a schooner, built at the beginning of the last century and mainly used as a collier. The Hunter was firstly owned by the British Merchant Navy. Then the Royal Navy took it over for its sailing qualities especially fit for the North Seas and decided to transform it into a Q-ship, when war broke out. As all other Q-ships it underwent changes at the dockyard of Queenstown, Ireland (that's why they were called Q-ship). It was equipped with false structures that concealed its deckweaponry. This structure could be easily removed and the hidden deck guns could be used to fire against the enemy, especially submarines.

RMS TITANIC - Olympic Class 1912

RMS Titanic was a class passenger liner built at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Titanic was the largest passenger steamship in the world. During her maiden voyage she struck an iceberg on 14 April 1912 and sank some hours later after breaking in two. The Titanic disaster ranks as the worlds worst peacetime maritime disaster.

ROBERT E. LEE - River Steamboat 1870

The first highways in America were the great rivers, which permitted the growth of commerce and transport. The advent of steam permitted the upstream navigation on rivers. The search for speed inspired marvellous competitions. One of the most famous races is that between Natchez and Robert E. Lee, held in 1870 between New Orleans and Saint Louis. After 750 miles of water the Robert E. Lee won the race, covering the distance in 3 days, 18 hours and 14 minutes. Solid hull kit.

The Santa Maria was Columbus flagship and it is still one of the best known ships in the history of the navy. Columbus nicknamed it “Nao”, but at the very beginning its name was La Gallega. Its owner Juan de la Coas chartered it to Columbus for his journey to the unknown world.

VIKING SHIP - Drakkar

These Drakkers were decorated with a dragon head fi gurehead and could reach 48 metres long. Drakkers had to be light and extremely manoeuvrable. When in a fleet, its captain could conquer entire worlds just showing it off. The sight of the fleet itself would terrorize the enemy.

WELLS FARGO STAGE COACH - Wild West 1820’s

A beautifully detailed kit of a United States Wells Fargo stage coach, which was used so much during the ‘Wild West’ period. (1820’s - 1900).,

The kit is very detailed, the cabin, wheels and chassis are finely realised miniatures of the full size coach, but are quite easy to assemble, thanks to the materials (which are laser cut for the wood parts and photo etched for the metal parts), and very comprehensive construction plans and instructions.

A full compliment of luggage and two exact scale Winchester rifles (Modelled in wood and brass) are included with the kit, together with leather material for the seats - brass buckles for the leather straps found both on the luggage and carriage
itself - even a padlock for the money chest!

XEBEC - Armed Vessel 1753

Armed with 14 cannons of medium caliber and 6 culverins for action at close range, the Xebec was also used for coastal defence for the Spanish Navy to fight against pirates. Oars made travelling possible even in case of a lull in wind. This is a very attractive and very detailed kit, and captures the lines of this type of vessel perfectly.
